Operational Risk Management Officer- Ha Noi- TA084
Job Description:
1. Conduct Operational Risk Assessments
- Perform targeted reviews of high-risk processes, products, and channels, including digital platforms, outsourcing arrangements, and ecosystem partnerships.
- Identify root causes of control weaknesses and emerging risks such as cyber threats, fraud typologies, or third-party failures.
2. Advise on Control Design and Risk Mitigation Strategies
- Provide expert guidance on designing and strengthening internal controls for new initiatives, digital transformation projects, and business-as-usual operations.
- Collaborate with business units to ensure controls are practical, scalable, and aligned with regulatory expectations.
3. Support Development and Optimization of Risk Management Tools
- Contribute to the design, testing, and refinement of tools such as RCSA templates, KRI dashboards, incident reporting systems, and fraud detection platforms.
- Ensure tools are tailored to the operational realities of each business unit and subsidiary.
4. Co-ordinate Incident Analysis and Root Cause Investigations
- Investigate significant operational risk events and fraud cases, working closely with internal stakeholders and control owners.
- Document findings, identify systemic issues, and recommend corrective actions with measurable follow-up.
5. Reporting and Analytics
- Produce regular and ad-hoc operational risk reports for senior management, board committees, and regulators.
- Use data analytics to identify trends, emerging risks, and control gaps.
- Support decision-making with actionable insights.
Job Requirements:
1. Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Insurance, Risk Management, Fintech, or a related field is required.
- Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., FRM, ORM, CIA, CFE) are highly preferred and demonstrate advanced expertise in risk disciplines.
- Strong academic foundation in risk frameworks, internal controls, data analysis, and regulatory compliance.
2. Relevant Knowledge & Expertise
- Risk & Operational Risk Management: Solid understanding of operational risk management frameworks, control design, risk assessment methodologies, and regulatory compliance within banking operations.
- Banking & Financial Services: In-depth knowledge of banking processes, systems, products, and services, particularly in retail and corporate banking operations.
- Digital Transformation: Knowledge of embedding risk controls into digital platforms, including process automation, AI-enabled monitoring, and system-driven controls.

4. Relevant Experience
- At least 3-5 years of experience in banking or financial services, including approximately 2 years in risk management.
- Proven track record in designing and implementing operational risk assessments, including product/process risk assessments and/or digital risk assessments.
- Strong exposure to end-to-end banking products and customer journeys, especially within retail and corporate banking products and operations.
- Hands-on experience implementing operational risk management tools, including incident analysis, KRI monitoring, management reporting, and related activities.
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders involved in risk-related decision-making.
- Experience in digital risk management and/or digital transformation projects is an advantage.
